When is Mother's Day?

Mother's Day in the United States is in May.

The month of May is an appropriate time for Mother's Day.

It is spring in the northern hemisphere, where approximately 90 percent of the world's population resides. Spring is a time of new growth, excitement, life.

Many flowers bloom in the month of May. Many women, and especially many mothers, appreciate the beauty of flowers.

Mother's Day is also my Mother's Birthday!

Every once in a while - roughly every 7 years or so - my mom's birthday landed on Mother's Day. But I never knew, until I was calculating dates to post on this page, that she was actually born on Mother's Day.

That is very special to me. Mom died years ago - in the 1980's - of breast cancer at the young age of 47. We trust the Lord that she went to heaven.

Mom was very special, a real angel in our family. Thank you, Mom, you are a real star shining bright! And thank you, Dad, for the many times you helped us honor Mom in a very special way.

Mothers are truly very, very special!

Thank your stars!
